1. Supply status of planetary gearbox
a. According to the order, the gearbox can be installed in the predetermined position.
b. The internal parts have been wrapped by oil film.
c. The gearbox has been coated with antioxidants. The mating surface is not smeared and is covered with a layer of protective oil.
d. The gearbox has passed the internal specification test
2. Transportation and storage
During transportation, always treat the gearbox as a fragile product. After accepting the goods, quickly check whether they are damaged. When moving packaged gearboxes in your warehouse, make sure that they will not be impacted. Otherwise, delicate external components and surfaces will be damaged.
3. Installation
Before starting the installation, please check whether the gearbox is the correct model. Prepare the butt flange for the machine or equipment that needs to install the gearbox. The mating surface used to install the gearbox must be completely flat and machined.
4. Connect
Fix the connecting part to the input and output of the gearbox or geared motor. Do not hit with a hammer or similar tools. To insert parts, use the screws and threaded holes provided on the shaft. When installing the connecting parts, make sure to remove the protective grease.
Clean the mating surface and the motor shaft coupling. Apply a thin layer of grease on the coupling to facilitate installation. Install the motor, and then tighten the fixing bolts to the motor flange.
Note: Please make sure that the motors are perfectly aligned. Incorrect alignment may damage the motor and input side bearings.
5. Lubrication
The standard lubrication for planetary gearboxes is an oil bath. Except for some special features, the gearboxes are all oiled. In order to refuel, please fix the gearbox at the exact working position, unscrew the fuel plug, and then refuel until visible. The location of the plug will depend on whether the device is installed in parallel or vertically. To drain, remove the drain plug and drain the oil.
Note: In the gearbox with brake, the brake lubricant is provided by the gearbox lubricant.
6. Start
When starting the gearbox, please check the precise position of the oil plug and check whether the air port is blocked by dust or paint. If the air port is blocked, pressure will build up inside the gearbox. And the sealing ring will blow open.
If possible, start the gearbox without load at low speed. Check whether the gearbox is running smoothly and does not produce loud noises. After running for several hours, check the temperature of the cabinet, the temperature should not exceed 70-75°C. At the same time, check that all bolts are tightened.
7. Maintenance
Under normal operating conditions, the gearbox does not require maintenance. The periodic operation is to check the oil level and change the oil.
a. Every year, check the oil level of the gearbox and change the oil when necessary.
b. According to the application, the oil needs to be changed every 2000-2200 hours of operation.
c. During this process, it is recommended to re-tighten all bolts and plugs.
In the following cases, please replace the oil seal:
a. Whenever the oil seal is removed.
b. When repairing and refurbishing the gearbox.
Note: At any idling speed, please fill the gearbox with oil first. Please drain to normal level before restarting operation.
